The Main Napoleonic Sites

Four heritage sites in St Helena are irrevocably associated with Napoleon's exile:

Briars Pavilion, where he spent his first months of captivity,

Longwood House, where he ultimately lived and died,

The Valley of the Tomb, where he was buried in 1821,

and

Plantation House, the official residence of his gaoler,

the British Governor Sir Hudson Lowe
